In this special iceTackle* edition of my regular column to our customers, I firstly want to encourage and entice you to register and come this year's event. 

As a tradeshow, iceTackle* costs a lot to organise and run, and all that is only worthwhile if you attend. It's a chance for you to see new product, meet the team and experience an event that we feel is without equal for friendliness, diveristy and fun. I know there is great pressure on your time, there will be a hundred and one reasons not to come but given the current business climate and the challenges faced by our industry, we need to be getting together and working together.

As in previous years we have great product on show - over 300 new SKUs in fact – along with fantastic show–only offers available to those who attend, a new brand launch and returning after a break, a great schedule of themed evening entertainment that promises good times over great food and drink.

New for this year is a dedicated business area shared with Leeda's sister companies, Madison and Sportline. Here is where you can sit in on seminars and business talks that can help spawn new ideas for your own business, and give you a chance to tell us what we can do for you.

For example, every month we produce a huge pack of promotional offers but how often do you use those to launch a promotion in your store? High street retailers will have a promotional calendar planned by week, with offers linked around key dates or customer events to help drive footfall and sales. Our offers are often generic but if you tell us what you are planning we are open to supporting and personalising our offers to support you. But we need you to tell us.

To have any chance of success in retail or e-commerce you must be promotionally active. It doesn’t mean blanket discounting but it does need to resonate with the customer and make them want to come into the store or order online. Regular communication with a compelling sales call-to-action is essential, and as each shop is different, we want to work with you to try and help you and your plan to succeed.

I look forward to welcoming you all at iceTackle* 2018 which is much more than a great product expo and social event; it’s also an important opportunity to review your business and talk to a supplier who is wanting to find ways of effectively supporting your business.
